Jongwon Lim

Jongwon Lim is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in medicinal chemistry, currently serving as Director of Medicinal Chemistry at AbbVie since August 2024. Previously, Jongwon held similar positions at Cerevel Therapeutics from September 2021 to August 2024 and was instrumental in managing external chemists and guiding teams at Merck from 2002 to September 2021, where contributions included the advancement of drug candidates through various stages of development. Jongwon’s early career included a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where research focused on natural product-like molecules. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Seoul National University.
