Matt Barnes

Matt Barnes is an accomplished researcher and leader in the field of oncology, currently serving as the Director of Search & Evaluation and Chief of Staff at AbbVie from October 2023 to September 2024. Previously, Barnes held the position of Associate Director at UCSF, contributing as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Valerie Weaver's lab, focusing on tumor microenvironment and cancer progression. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Iowa and a BS in Microbiology from Idaho State University.
