Timothy Sersen

Timothy Sersen is currently the Director of Biologic Drug Substance Manufacturing at AbbVie, where they support the global Biologic Drug Substance manufacturing network and lead a contamination risk assessment and control team. Prior to this role, Timothy held various positions at AbbVie, including Director of Operations for Fermentation & Recovery and Associate Director of Drug Product Manufacturing. They have a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Master’s degree in BioScience Administration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. With over a decade of leadership experience in biologic manufacturing, Timothy is dedicated to optimizing production performance while ensuring compliance and safety.
