Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national trade association representing nearly 22,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms across 67 chapters nationwide. Our membership spans the full spectrum of specialties within the U.S. commercial and industrial construction sectors, unified by a commitment to excellence and the principles of free enterprise.

ABC is a powerful voice for the construction industry, advocating at all levels of government—federal, state, and local—as well as with the media and the public. We champion the merit shop philosophy: the belief that projects should be awarded based on merit, regardless of labor affiliation. This approach fosters open competition and drives innovation, safety, and value in the built environment.

ABC delivers unmatched value to members through:
	• Government representation and legal advocacy
	• Workforce development and apprenticeship training
	• Education, safety programs, and best-practice sharing
	• Business development opportunities and member recognition
	• Communications and technology resources
	• A robust online contractor directory and employee benefits programs

ABC supports and strengthens the construction industry—empowering contractors to grow, lead, and build America.
