Pratima Rai

Pratima Rai is an Associate Scientist at Abcam since June 2023, previously holding the position of Research Associate at the same company from November 2020 to August 2022. Pratima has experience in cell engineering, particularly in generating cell knock-outs using CRISPR-Cas9 technology. In earlier roles, Pratima contributed to the EdiGene portfolio, focusing on a high-throughput cell editing platform that involved culturing over 2,000 knockout cell lines targeting more than 2,600 genes in human cancer cell lines, validated through Sanger sequencing. Pratima holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science (Biochemistry) and a Master of Science in Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Leicester, as well as GCSE and A-level qualifications from St Lawrence College, Ramsgate.
