Karla Phillips is a dedicated Support Coordinator at Abilities First, Inc. since December 2021, serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Greene County under the Department of Mental Health. Prior to this role, Karla worked as a Foster Care Case Manager at Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services and at Preferred Family Healthcare, where advocacy for children and families was a primary focus. Earlier experience includes a position as a Case Manager at The Kitchen, Inc., where Karla supported at-risk and homeless populations, including veterans. Karla holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Psychology from Drury University, earned in 2012.

ABILITIES FIRST Enriching the Lives of Children and Adults in Our Communities Founded in 1962, Abilities First is a not-for-profit organization serving the needs of the community, as well as those with developmental disabilities, from pre-school through adulthood. Abilities First has had a long-term commitment of providing a cohesive culture of compassion, empowerment and respect for people with a variety of disabilities through educational, vocational and habilitation services. It presently serves over 1,200 children and adults throughout the Hudson Valley region of New York State.
