Ability Today is a not-for-profit social enterprise breaking down barriers for disabled people through education, media, and employment. Founded by disability advocate Grant Logan, we exist to create opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise be accessible. Our flagship initiative, the Academy for Disabled Journalists (ADJ), launched in partnership with the NCTJ, has supported over 100 disabled students with accredited, accessible training. Alumni are now thriving at the BBC, ITV, Newsquest, and freelancing for national titles such as Metro, Radio Times, and Cosmopolitan. Students have reported from the Paralympics, spoken in Parliament, and become powerful voices for change. 

With further Academies in SEO, bookkeeping, and coding planned, we are building career pathways across industries. While the media industry is beginning to support us, we know much more must be done to ensure disabled people, who make up 20% of the population, are represented fairly in the newsroom and beyond. At Ability Today, we are proud to champion inclusion, empower talent, and change the landscape for disabled professionals.
