Established in 2022, the ABL Foundation supports the Advancing Beef Leaders (ABL) Program to develop Australia’s future beef leaders. The ABL Program is an early-stage beef industry leadership program delivered across six modules over 12 months. Sessions are primarily online, with some face-to-face delivery, and a focus on peer learning, self-awareness development and leadership. The Program also develops business, governance and communication skills, as well as technological understanding. The Program overlays relevant technical skills with appropriate self-development, encouraging participants to build stronger networks, and sparking the confidence needed for alumni to contribute and influence. Participants receive mentoring throughout the Program, and are supported to contribute to the ABL network and their industry following graduation.

The ABL Foundation delivers the ABL Program through the efforts of a team comprising industry experts, ABL alumni, and dedicated contractors, with a shared passion and commitment to the beef industry. The Advancing Beef Leaders Program is delivered with the support of financial partners, Rabobank, MLA, the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, AgForce and the Fitzroy Basin Authority.

The ABL Foundation currently delivers the ABL Program to participants in Queensland. the Northern Territory, Northern WA and Northern NSW. The Foundation is in the process of opening the ABL Program to applicants across Australia.
