Mat Collins

Mat Collins is an experienced transport professional with a robust background in transport planning and advisory roles. Currently serving as an Associate Transport Planner at Abley, Mat has previously led the South Island Transport Advisory team at AECOM and held senior positions at Auckland Council and Auckland Transport, providing strategic input into major transport projects. As a Principal Development Planner, responsibilities included overseeing resource consents and engineering plan approvals for land developments. Mat has also contributed to various councils and organizations, acting as a transport expert for Selwyn District Council and engaging in significant projects such as the Supporting Growth Programme. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Auckland and a Next Generation Transportation Certificate from Simon Fraser University.
