George Astras

George Astras is the Director of Medical Oncology at the American Medical Center and Ippokrateion Hospital, with extensive experience in treating various cancers, including lung, gastrointestinal, breast cancers, and soft tissue sarcomas. George has reviewed over 30,000 patients since 2004 and has been involved in numerous Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials in the UK. They have also developed a Medical Oncology Handbook for the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and are actively involved in teaching medical students, nurses, and doctors. In addition to developing the Oncology Department and Acute Oncology Services for the AMC, George participates in the creation of research protocols within Cyprus and the European Union, providing specialized cancer care services. They hold an MSc in Oncology from Newcastle University and an MD from Semmelweis Egyetem.
