Chuck Summers has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple decades. Chuck started their career in 1986 as a Developer at Ayres and Associates, where they coded embedded electronic survey instrument and GIS mapping applications. Chuck also provided training and support for AutoCAD and Intergraph CAD systems.

Chuck led a team that built the company's present ecommerce websites, generating approximately $100M in annual internet-driven retail and B2B sales. These websites offered online exam preparation and continuing education courses.

From 2016 to 2017, Chuck worked at Cerner Corporation as a Senior Developer. In 2017, they joined UnitedHealth Group as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they created various clinical tools and architected the data model for applications running on MySQL and MS SQL database servers. Chuck also modeled REST APIs using OpenAPI via Swagger tooling.

Chuck's most recent position, starting in 2021, is at About Objects as a Senior Software Engineer. Chuck implemented pathways to store and manage high-frequency patient generated health data from various devices into the VA medical system. Chuck also coded a real-time pathway for lab results integration.

Additionally, during their time at Southern Methodist University, Chuck worked as a Student Attorney in the Tax Clinic and served as a Research Assistant.
