Daniel O'Connor currently serves as the Director of Regulatory Policy and Early Access at The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) since July 2023. Prior to this role, Daniel held the position of Deputy Director of Innovation Accelerator and Regulatory Science at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency from January 2006 to June 2023, and also worked as an Expert Medical Assessor. Earlier in Daniel's career, a Clinical Lecturer role was undertaken at University College London and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research from January 2005 to January 2006, focusing on Histopathology. Daniel's educational background includes a Higher Medical Training in Pharmaceutical Medicine and a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.
