Mark Smyth began their work experience as a Technical Sales Representative at Roplan Ltd in 1997. Mark then moved on to Nouveau Solutions Ltd in 2003, where they held various positions including Technical Services Manager, Pre-sales Technical Consultant, and Solutions Architect. In 2010, Mark worked as an IT Infrastructure Analyst at Arqiva before becoming the IT Director at xRM Partners Ltd in 2011. Mark later joined Information Management Group (IMGROUP) in 2012 as a Principal Consultant, where they focused on delivering IT solutions. Since 2014, Mark has been the Head of IT & Facilities at The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), leading improvements in the IT department and developing IT services to support business plans.

Mark Smyth attended York College in York, UK from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a City & Guilds degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Easingwold School from 1989 to 1991, but no degree or field of study information is available for this period. In addition to their formal education, Mark has obtained various certifications from Microsoft, including those in CRM applications, installation and deployment, managing implementations, and Windows Server configurations. Mark is also a Box Certified Professional (BCP), certified by Box in 2019.
