Michael Sand is a seasoned publishing professional with extensive experience in the book industry. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Publisher for Adult Trade at ABRAMS since September 2014, Michael previously held the position of Vice President, Publisher, Adult Trade at the same company. In addition, Michael teaches a 7-week intensive Introduction to Book Publishing course as an Adjunct Instructor at NYU School of Professional Studies since January 2023. Prior to ABRAMS, Michael was Executive Editor at Little, Brown and Company from July 2000 to September 2014, where oversight of Ansel Adams publishing projects, including the best-selling Ansel Adams: 400 Photographs, was a notable achievement. Michael began a career at Aperture Foundation as Executive Editor from 1990 to 2000. Educational credentials include a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University and studies at Vassar College.
