Dr. Shiv Rao is a practicing non-invasive cardiologist and the CEO & Co-Founder of Abridge. Shiv was previously the EVP at UPMC Enterprises, and prior to that they served as the Co-Architect of Pittsburgh's "Energizing Health" Healthcare Innovation initiative at the Kauffman Foundation's Health Data Consortium. Dr. Rao has also been a Physician Advisor in Residence at UPMC Enterprises' Technology Development Center, and they currently serve on the faculty of the Heart and Vascular Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In addition to their work in healthcare, Dr. Rao is also a serial entrepreneur, having founded or co-founded several startups including DocDok and Litcall.
Shiv Rao completed their undergraduate degree at Carnegie Mellon University. Shiv then went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan. After completing their residency, they pursued a fellowship in adult cardiovascular medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
