Arnab Ghosh

Arnab Ghosh has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Arnab started their career as a Sailing Chief Engineer at The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. from 1996 to 2003. Arnab then worked as a Sailing Chief Engineer at BP from 2003 to 2004.

After that, Ghosh joined the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and held various roles. Arnab worked as a Surveyor / Surveyor In Charge in Calcutta from 2004 to 2009, where they performed surveys and audits. From 2009 to 2012, they served as a Senior Surveyor & Lead Surveyor in Mumbai, conducting surveys and audits as well as serving as the Lead Surveyor for the Western India Region.

Ghosh then became a Principal Surveyor in the Pacific Survey Department at ABS from 2012 to 2017, where they acted as a specialist in applying rules and regulations and recommending changes in surveying processes and safety programs. Arnab then transitioned to the role of Manager - Client Support in Singapore from 2017 to 2018, assisting clients with classification, statutory, and advisory services.

From 2018 to 2021, Ghosh served as a Manager - Client Relations & Business Development in Singapore and Malaysia, maintaining and growing client relationships and acting as a liaison between clients and ABS. Arnab'smost recent role at ABS is Vice President, Regional Business Development for the South Pacific region, starting in 2023.

Arnab Ghosh began their education at St. Xavier's Collegiate School in Kolkata, where they completed their secondary education and obtained an Indian School Certificate in 1989. Arnab then attended La Martiniere for Boys in Calcutta for Plus Two (Sciences) from 1989 to 1991. Arnab went on to pursue an apprenticeship in Marine Engineering at The Shalimar Works (1980) Limited in Calcutta from 1992 to 1996. During the same period, they also studied Mechanical Engineering at the Institution of Engineers of India (IEI) in Kolkata, earning a Chartered Engineer degree. Finally, Arnab completed their education at the Director General of Shipping in India, obtaining a First Class Certificate of Competency (Motorships) in Marine Engineering from 1996 to 2001.
