Derek Novak is the Vice-President and Chief Engineer at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), a position they have held since 2019. They previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Pacific Division from 2014 to 2017, as well as in various engineering roles at ABS from 1994 to 2004. Prior to their current position, they were Vice-President of Operations and Engineering at ABS Americas from 2011 to 2013. Derek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1994.
