Laura Fulton is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations, as well as financial planning and record-keeping. Laura joined ABS in January 2020 as the Vice President of Finance and became CFO for ABS in July 2021.
Prior to ABS, Laura was the CFO of Hi-Crush Inc. (NYSE:HCR), a premier provider of proppant and logistics services to the North American energy industry, and previously the EVP, CFO for AEI, an operator of energy infrastructure assets in emerging markets. Laura also worked with Lyondell Chemical Company and started her career with Deloitte in audit.
Laura was one of Oil & Gas Investor magazine’s 2019 “25 Most Influential Women in Energy”. Institutional Investor named her to the 2018 All-America Executive Team – Oil Services & Equipment - Best CFO. She was a Houston Business Journal 2018 CFO of the Year finalist, and their CFO of the Year for both Small Public Company and Community Impact categories in 2013.
Laura graduated cum laude from Texas A&M with a B.B.A. in Accounting. She was named an Outstanding Alumni of the Mays Business School in 2020 and joined the Accounting Department Hall of Honor in 2019. She serves on the Mays Dean’s Advisory Board and Accounting Department Advisory Board.
