Vice President Of Ethics And Compliance at American Bureau of Shipping

Todd Edwards has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Todd started their career as an Associate Attorney at Carmody & Yokubaitis LLP in 1998. In 2000, they became a Partner at Elston & Edwards, where they worked for 15 years before joining the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in 2015.

At ABS, Todd held various roles in the field of ethics and compliance. Todd started as the Regional Ethics and Compliance Manager - Americas from 2015 to 2017. In this role, they managed compliance initiatives and provided guidance to the executive leadership team.

Following this, Todd became the Regional Director of Ethics and Compliance, responsible for the compliance program across 13 countries in the Americas. Their key responsibilities included leading compliance initiatives, identifying potential compliance risks, and providing guidance on compliance issues.

In 2020, Todd was promoted to the position of Global Director of Ethics and Compliance at ABS. As the Global Director, they oversaw and directed the global compliance program for a multinational organization with 5,000 employees across 65 countries. Todd served as a strategic partner to the executive team and presented regular updates to the Executive Compliance Committee and board Audit Committee.

Most recently, Todd is working as the Vice President of Ethics and Compliance at ABS, a position they assumed in October 2023.

Todd Edwards has a strong educational background, beginning with their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, which they obtained from 1992 to 1995. Following this, they pursued their Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in Law at the University of Houston Law Center from 1995 to 1998. Recently, from 2012 to 2014, they expanded their knowledge by completing their Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in two fields: Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law, as well as International Law, from the University of Houston Law Center.
