Matthew Saunders

Matthew Saunders is a Senior Scientist at Absci since November 2022, specializing in Analytical Development and leading efforts in therapeutic antibody assessments and plate-based binding assays. Prior to Absci, Matthew served as a Senior Scientist at BennuBio from June 2021 to June 2022, focusing on assay development for the Velocyt flow cytometry platform. Matthew's extensive experience includes a role as Lead Research Scientist at Lectenz® Bio from January 2015 to May 2021, where contributions included glycosylation profiling and the development of high-affinity glycosylation recognition reagents. Additional positions include a brief tenure as a Scientist at BioLegend in 2017, postdoctoral research at Carnegie Mellon University under Dr. Alan Waggoner from 2010 to 2014, and a Graduate Student Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 2004 to 2009. Matthew holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from The University of New Mexico and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Oregon.
