Ryan Brand

Ryan Brand is an accomplished AI Scientist currently at Absci since September 2023, focusing on AI Protein Engineering research. Prior to this role, Ryan served as an Applied Scientist at Amazon Web Services from September 2019 to September 2023, contributing to the Generative AI Innovation Center and previously the Machine Learning Solutions Lab, and also held the position of Data Scientist in the same lab. Experience includes working as a Research Specialist in Data Science and Machine Learning at Weill Cornell Medicine and as a Consultant at the New York Genome Center, where Ryan was involved in cancer -omics data analysis and bioinformatics data processing pipelines. Ryan began the professional journey as a Tutor at Carnegie Pollak, supporting high school students in Mathematics, Physics, and Economics. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Williams College.
