Andrew Cook

Andrew Cook is an experienced safety and security professional with a diverse background in managing security operations across various sectors and regions. Currently serving as Safety and Security Manager at Abt Associates since May 2022, Andrew provides critical safety management support for programming in Papua New Guinea. Previous roles include Safety and Security Coordinator at The Gordon, Security Manager for Australian Government Deployees at Abt Associates, and Country Safety and Security Manager at Mercy Corps. Andrew has also held positions at Cardno International Development, Relief International, Norwegian Refugee Council, and World Vision, where responsibilities ranged from developing security management systems to conducting risk assessments and coordinating crisis management training. Andrew holds a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Humanities from Murdoch University.
