Jee Hyub Kim

Jee Hyub Kim has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and natural language processing (NLP). Jee Hyub currently serves as the Data Science Lead at Abtrace since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior NLP Engineer at Causaly from 2020 to 2022.

Before joining Causaly, Jee Hyub Kim was employed at Accenture as an AI & Analytics Lead (NLP) from 2019 to 2020. In this role, they led AI and analytics components in projects, specifically applying NLP, machine learning, and knowledge engineering methods to identify security weaknesses in program codes within a global application security project. Jee Hyub also provided guidance to the analytics team members.

From 2017 to 2019, Jee Hyub Kim held the position of a Senior NLP Machine Learning Engineer at BenevolentAI. In this position, they focused on developing relation and event extraction modules using deep learning and rule-based methods. Jee Hyub also played a role in building a Knowledge Graph using neo4j, combining unstructured and structured data in the biomedical domain for predicting drug targets for diseases.

Prior to BenevolentAI, Jee Hyub Kim worked at EMBL-EBI, first as a Senior Text-Mining Specialist from 2012 to 2017 and later as a Text-Mining Engineer from 2009 to 2012. During their time at EMBL-EBI, they designed and developed a text-mining pipeline and led a team for sentiment analysis in patients' notes. Jee Hyub also developed various named entity taggers and enriched services on EPMC by concept indexing and data linking.

Jee Hyub Kim began their career as a Data-Mining Researcher at Université de Genève from 2003 to 2008. There, they developed an information extraction system using natural language processing and employed machine learning methods for data mining in biological problems.

Throughout their career, Jee Hyub Kim has demonstrated expertise in NLP, machine learning, data mining, and knowledge engineering, with a focus on applying these skills to various domains such as healthcare and application security.

Jee Hyub Kim holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Pohang University of Science and Technology. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Kyungpook National University. Additionally, Kim has pursued certifications in Cloud Computing from Learning Tree International and as a Verified Peer Reviewer from Publons.
