Sean O'Brien

Sean O'Brien currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Abzena, a position held since April 2023, and also previously held the role of SVP and General Manager. O'Brien's extensive experience includes various leadership positions at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from May 2016 to March 2023, where titles included Executive Director, Site Lead, and Sr. Director of Operations. Prior to Alexion, O'Brien spent a decade at Amgen, with responsibilities ranging from Global Process Owner for Transportation to multiple managerial roles in Distribution Centers. Early career experience includes roles at Abgenix and Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, as well as service as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. O'Brien earned an MBA from San Francisco State University and a BA in Political Science from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
