Michael Mortonson

Michael Mortonson has held various roles in the data science field since 2009. Michael began as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Ohio State University in 2009, followed by a similar role at UC Berkeley in 2012. In 2015, they became Head of Data Science and a Data Scientist at Academia.edu.

Michael Mortonson obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2000 and 2004. Michael then went on to obtain their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the University of Chicago between 2004 and 2009. In addition, Michael has obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1 (March 2015), Exploratory Data Analysis (January 2015), Getting and Cleaning Data (January 2015), Reproducible Research (January 2015), Statistical Inference (January 2015), R Programming (December 2014), The Data Scientist's Toolbox (December 2014), and Machine Learning (September 2014).
