Stuart Liroff

Stuart Liroff has over 35 years of work experience. Stuart began their career in 1981 as a Software Engineer and IT Systems at Argo Systems. In 1985, they moved to Hewlett-Packard (H-P) as an R&D Section Manager. Stuart then transitioned to Silicon Graphics in 1990, where they held the role of Engineering Manager, responsible for delivering the first certified Ada95 compiler on MIPS 3/4 platforms, and C++ Compiler Manager. In 1996, they were appointed Director of Engineering at WebMD. Stuart then moved to Edgewood Associates, LLC in 2000, where they acted as VP of Engineering, Engineering Recruiter, and HR Director. In 2003, they joined Plaxo, Inc. as Sr. Director of Human Resources, where they were responsible for building the company from 11 people to 50 people. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Technical Recruiter at Bayswater Associates and TSI, respectively. In 2008, they became a Partner at GreeneSearch, Inc., a leading technical recruiting firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2015, they joined Academia.edu as VP of Talent Acquisition, where they were responsible for building a new distribution and peer review platform.

Stuart Liroff received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley between 1970 and 1973. Stuart then went on to receive a Master of Business Administration in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University between 1984 and 1987.
