The company was formed in 1990 as Academy Surveys, undertaking topographical surveys and site setting out in the north of England.

Academy Surveys became Academy Geomatics Ltd to reflect the growth of the company and the change in focus within the industry from traditional surveying to modern techniques of data capture. This has led to the utilisation of new methodologies such as GPS, remote sensing, photogrammetry and laser scanning.

The company was incorporated in 2001 to further enhance the status of the business and demonstrate to clients the ongoing support and stability provided by a corporate body.

The company employs staff who are highly qualified in their various disciplines, and who together form a highly effective team for the benefit of clients throughout the UK.
