Thomas Burns

Thomas Burns is an experienced employment consultant at Acas since April 2024, specializing in providing guidance to employers and employees on employment-related issues and legislation. Prior to this role, Thomas served as a manager at J D Wetherspoon PLC from July 2017 to September 2025 and worked as a graduate geologist at the University of Edinburgh for a short period in May 2017 after graduating with a first-class BSc with honours in Geological and Earth Sciences. Thomas's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Edinburgh (2013-2017) and A levels in Physics, Chemistry, Geology, and Maths from Runshaw College (2011-2013). Earlier experience also includes working as an electrical engineer at Iron Impact from 2010 to 2013.
