Jayanthi Thennakoon

Jayanthi Thennakoon is currently the Director of Gas Markets at the ACCC, a position held since 2022. They previously served as the Assistant Director of Network Pricing at the Australian Energy Regulator from 2021 to 2022, and as the Assistant Manager at the Clean Energy Regulator from 2019 to 2021. Jayanthi's earlier roles include Project Manager, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and Lecturer at the University of Adelaide between 2012 and 2016, and Director of Energy/Water at the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, they worked as a Policy Researcher at the Institute of Policy Studies in 2005-2006. Jayanthi is pursuing a PhD in Applied Economics at the University of Adelaide, a Master's degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore, and holds an Honors degree in Economics from the University of Peradeniya.
