Robert Deakin

Director, Cyber Security and Data

Robert Deakin is currently the Director of Cyber Security and Data at ACCC, where their leadership in cybersecurity and data strategy plays a crucial role in safeguarding Australia’s critical infrastructure. Previously, Robert served as Chief Information Security Officer at the Bureau of Meteorology and held various positions at Telstra, including Manager of IT Security Management and Compliance and Government Liaison. With a strong educational background, Robert earned a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Information Management from Queensland University of Technology. Additionally, they have contributed to the ASD Aid as Chairman and hold the title of Churchill Fellow since 2012. Robert's expertise also includes serving as National Cyber Security Advisor for the Department of Home Affairs and as Advisor Cyber Security for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
