Stephen Ridgeway is currently a Commissioner at the ACCC, bringing extensive expertise from a career in competition and regulatory law. Formerly a senior partner at King & Wood Mallesons, Ridgeway acted in significant merger and joint venture approvals alongside major litigations, including cases for BHP and the Western Australian Government. With prior roles as senior legal advisor to the ACCC and in private practice since 1998, Ridgeway's contributions to the field were recognized through leadership positions such as Chairman of the Competition & Consumer Committee of the Law Council of Australia. Ridgeway has also been acknowledged as a leading competition and litigation lawyer by various esteemed legal directories. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science with Honours at The Australian National University and UNSW Australia, respectively, Ridgeway is committed to ongoing education in law and science.
