Alan Ellman

Alan Ellman has an extensive work history, beginning in 1986 as a Finance Manager for ABC Television. After four years in this role, they moved to ABC Radio Network as Director of Finance. In 1993, they founded and became Vice Chairman of Screaming Media, which was the largest content syndicator of proprietary content on the internet until it merged with Marketwatch and became part of Dow Jones. During their time at Screaming Media, they raised over $135M in funding and IPO's in 2000. In 2001, they became a Partner at Cast Iron Partners, LLC., which helped develop a number of early stage companies. In 2004, they became the CEO of IMDS Trading/Emergent Trading Fund, where they led development of a cloud-based neural network to test and evaluate trading strategies. In 2011, they became the CEO of Squarable, a consultancy at the intersection of venture capital, private equity, and technology. In 2020, they became the Founder of Accelerant Manufacturing and Investing in companies via an ESOP Structure, Entrepreneur, Mentor, Investor, and Business Developer at MBO Ventures.

Alan Ellman received their BS in Finance from the University of Maryland in 1985. Alan then went on to pursue an MBA in Finance from Fordham Gabelli School of Business, which they completed in 1990. In 2018, they attended MIT Sloan & MIT CSAIL Artificial Intelligence.
