Michael Proksch

Michael Proksch, PhD has a diverse work experience in the fields of data science, research, and academia. Michael is currently serving as the Chief Scientist at AccelerEd, a leading provider of education technology products and the IT partner to UMGC. Prior to that, they worked at H2O.ai as an AI Transformation Leader and later as the Senior Director of Customer Data Science, where they developed algorithms and solutions for insurance and finance companies. Michael also held the position of Principal Data Scientist at Aetna, where they designed and executed analytical solutions to measure and influence healthcare provider performance. In addition, Michael served as the Head of Data Science at TD Reply, a global organization specializing in data-driven technologies, and as a Data Analyst & Market Research Consultant at Produkt + Markt Marketing Research. Michael started their career as a Researcher in Economics at the University of Adelaide, followed by roles as a Post-Doc Researcher and Research Assistant in Economics at the University of Kiel, where they completed their PhD with high distinction.
