Access Planet Organization is led by young women with disabilities and is working to promote the rights, empowerment, and inclusion of Young women with disabilities in Nepal. It was established in September 2015 aiming to mainstream these women in society through technology, capacity building, and economic empowerment. The organization was officially registered in District Administration Bhaktapur of Bagmati Province and also has branches in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces, Nepal. In the following years, we aim to expand its network throughout the nation. We focus on promoting the quality education, well-being, and leadership capabilities of these women.
Our major activities include career counseling, strengthening leadership capacities, legal literacy and capacity building on technology, sports-related activities, movement building, and advocacy with government and nongovernment stakeholders for the rights of young women with disabilities. The stereotypical attitudes, roles, and responsibilities prescribed by society to these women are challenged and they are capacitated to build their career to the fullest potential.
