James Butlin is an experienced professional in accessibility and needs assessment, currently serving as a Senior Study Needs Assessor at Access2Learn since October 2023. Prior to this, James worked at AbilityNet from June 2016 to September 2023 as an Accessibility and Usability Consultant, where responsibilities included conducting digital accessibility audits and supporting usability testing. James's career began at the Student Loans Company from February 2012 to June 2016, holding roles such as DSA Officer and DSA Assessor, focusing on needs assessment reports and student support agreements. Early work experience included editorial responsibilities at the University of Central Lancashire's student magazine and freelance writing for various media outlets. James holds a BA (Hons) in Journalism from the University of Central Lancashire, earned in 2011.
