Robert A. Richard is senior vice president of Major Enterprise Projects for DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. Robert is responsible for major projects in Power Generation, Distribution, Renewable, Nuclear and Gas Midstream platforms. This assignment leverages his experience as an operating Executive in Gas Midstream, Power Generation and the Gas Utility of DTE Energy. Prior to joining DTE Energy, Robert was vice president of operations and process improvement at Bethlehem Steel. This role was responsible for sales, marketing and operations of the eastern division. Previously, he spent 13 years at General Electric where he served in a variety of leadership roles. Robert was senior executive for GE LEXAN Americas Manufacturing and responsible for Phenolics, BPA, SAN, Chlorine and Polycarbonate extrusion.
Robert earned bachelor of science and master of science degrees in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University. At Ohio State, his graduate work was in coal technologies, which included liquefaction, gasification and the microbial desulfurization of coal. Robert attended the Nuclear Reactor Technology course of MIT and he is a certified Master Black Belt from GE and the Six Sigma Academy. He received the Whitney Award for technical achievement at GE.
Robert is a member of the board of directors of the Wildlife Habitat Council where he serves on the finance subcommittee. His is active in the Boy Scouts of America and is a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association.

ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has been serving the community for more than 47 years. Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1971 out of a storefront in Dearborn’s impoverished south end, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in the United States. Today, ACCESS is the largest Arab American community nonprofit in the United States. With 11 locations and more than 120 programs serving metro Detroit, ACCESS offers a wide range of social, economic, health and educational services to a diverse population.
