Alan Hood

Alan Hood has a diverse work experience spanning over 26 years. Alan started their career in 1996 with the British Army, where they served for 24 years. During their tenure, Alan worked in the highly specialized Defence Diplomacy sector, both in the UK and abroad. Alan analyzed digital information, performed HR administrative tasks, managed large expense accounts and budgets, and maintained stability across multiple departments. Alan developed a reputation for accuracy, thoroughness, problem-solving, and meeting deadlines and project budgets.

In 2020, Alan joined CodeClan as a Software Development Student, completing an intensive 16-week Professional Software Development course. Alan acquired fundamental understanding and hands-on experience in various programming languages and technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Ruby, SQL, HTML5, CSS3, and Vue.

Following their time at CodeClan, Alan served as a Junior Platform Engineer at TrustFlight from October 2020 to November 2022. There, they contributed to the development and maintenance of platform infrastructure.

Currently, Alan has joined AccessPay as a Cloud DevOps Engineer in 2022.

Alan Hood completed their education at The Open University from 2003 to 2014. Alan earned a Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Geosciences during this time. In addition, they obtained a Certificate in Natural Sciences from The Open University from 2005 to 2014, as well as a Certificate in Social Sciences from 2003 to 2013. Alan also holds several additional certifications, including Cilium Getting Started from Isovalent in July 2023, Certified Agile DevOps Professional (CADOP) from The Knowledge Academy in August 2020, CMI Level 6 Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute in June 2018, CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management (QCF) from the Chartered Management Institute in May 2011, CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership (QCF) from the Chartered Management Institute in May 2011, Diploma in Leadership and Management (Level 4) from ILM in May 2011, CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation in March 2022, PRINCE2® 2009 Foundation from AXELOS Global Best Practice in September 2017, and PRINCE2® (2009) Foundation from AXELOS Global Best Practice in August 2017.
