Mike Wagstaffe

Mike Wagstaffe is a seasoned technical leader with extensive experience in engineering and project management. Currently serving as Technical Lead at AccessPay since November 2022, Mike previously held the role of UK & Ireland Applications & Service Manager at Nidec Control Techniques from January 2016 to November 2022, where Mike successfully stabilized an engineering department facing significant customer loss by establishing a new engineering function that drew in high-value clients and achieved double-digit profitability. Earlier roles include NPI Facilities Engineer at Gestamp UK Ltd, where Mike led multidisciplinary engineering teams, and multiple positions at Ishida Europe Ltd, including New Applications Control Systems Design Engineer and Electrical Design Engineer. Mike's career commenced at GKN Autostructures as a Control Systems Engineer, with a foundational education comprising a BEng Hons in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Staffordshire University and a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering from Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology.
