This 50-50 joint-venture (JV) between ACCIONA Energía and Plug Power, integrates in a unique platform the expertise and know-how of two leaders in their respective markets, and provides tailored made and competitive solutions along the whole value chain of the green hydrogen business. The JV develops, operates, and maintains green hydrogen projects, serving the growing demand in the Iberian Peninsula. 

The goal is to reach a 20% market share of the green hydrogen business in Spain and Portugal by 2030, which entails an initially planned investment of over €2 billion. Plug Power will serve as the preferred electrolyzer technology supplier and ACCIONA Energía as the preferred clean electricity provider, positioning Spain and Portugal as global leading green hydrogen hubs. 

The JV is capable of providing integrated solutions, serving the entire value chain of green hydrogen: from renewable power development, construction and operation to clean hydrogen generation, liquefaction, distribution and dispensing.
