Jonas Långbacka

Jonas Långbacka has a diverse range of work experience in the field of engineering. Jonas started their career at Sony Ericsson as an Antenna Research Assistant, where they conducted research on small terminal antennas and radio propagation. During this time, they focused on optimizing physical size versus bandwidth, radiation efficiency, and diversity performance of resonant structures such as patch, PIFA, and meander-line antennas.

After their role at Sony Ericsson, Jonas worked at Ericsson as an RF Design Engineer and later as an RF Customer Support Engineer. In these roles, they designed and verified discrete circuit transmitter modules for various frequency ranges and participated in the development of robust and fast transmitter calibration algorithms for Ericsson's software-defined radio platforms. Jonas also provided customer support for RF-related issues.

Following their time at Ericsson, Jonas worked at Mikrodust AB as an RF Design Engineer, where they designed low power radio modules for DECT, GSM, ZigBee, and WLAN applications. Jonas also constructed a compact low-cost RF power detector module for factory test rigs to calibrate and test radio modules.

Eventually, Jonas joined Altran Technologies Sweden as a Consultant, where they worked until 2016. Jonas then moved on to Acconeer AB, first as an RF/SW Engineer and later as an Antenna Engineer. At Acconeer AB, they were involved in the development of hardware and software for radar sensor modules and development kits. Jonas also conducted research, EM simulations, and prototyping on mmwave dielectric lenses, IC package antenna designs, and PCBs for 60 GHz.

Throughout their career, Jonas has made valuable contributions to multiple projects that have reached the market, demonstrating their expertise and dedication in the field of engineering.

Jonas Långbacka began their education in 2002 at Umeå University, where they studied Mathematics until 2004. In 2005, they enrolled at Lund University and pursued a Master's Degree specializing in Electromagnetics, Wireless communications, and Mathematics. Jonas completed their Master's Degree program in 2010. Additionally, Jonas obtained the edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python from edX at an unspecified time.
