Miguel Pires

Miguel Pires currently serves as the Head of Design for D&TS Americas and D&TS South America at Accor since April 2019, leading design initiatives for premium, midscale, and eco brands. In academia, Miguel Pires holds positions as a Professor in Pós Graduação at both Istituto Europeo di Design and Senac São Paulo, starting in August 2022 and October 2021, respectively. Prior industry experience includes roles as Director at Smart Decor - Fernanda Marques Arquitetos and Project Manager in the Creative Department at Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados from September 2011 to March 2019. Miguel Pires is pursuing a Ph.D. in Digital Architectural Design at the University of Salford, and has received a Master of Architecture degree from Universidade Lusíada - Porto. Additional educational experiences include short courses at the University of Chicago and New York University.
