Michael Diaz

Michael Diaz is currently the Associate Chief of Academics at a high school, having served in various leadership roles in education, including the Director of Science Achievement and Vice President of Great Teaching at Achievement First from 2011 to 2017. Diaz began their teaching career as a Science Teacher and Department Chair at KIPP Academy of Opportunity, where they developed curriculum and mentored peers. They co-founded the Pursuit of Learning and Understanding Program at Stephens Middle School, facilitating academic and social skill development for students. Diaz also has experience as a founding teacher at Key Academy and has held teaching positions in multiple school districts, focusing on science education across diverse student populations.
