Tom McDermott

Tom McDermott is an accomplished educational leader currently serving as the Executive Director of Achievement First in Rhode Island, a position they began in 2025. Previously, Tom held various roles, including System Partner and Managing Director of Northeast Partnerships at Achievement Network, as well as Chief Strategy Officer at Jeffco Public Schools in Colorado. Tom's experience also includes significant teaching and leadership positions at Uncommon Schools and Cesar Chavez Community School. They earned a Doctor of Education Leadership from Harvard University and hold a Master's in Education from Arizona State University, complemented by a BA in History from the University of Mary Washington.
