Karen Sie

Karen Sie has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Karen currently holds the position of Director of Legal Services at Achievers, where they manage legal matters for the company. Prior to this, they worked as a Brand Manager and Creative Lead at Maneki Fit.

From 2016 to 2020, Karen worked as the sole Legal Counsel for Cority and its subsidiaries. In this role, they handled corporate commercial matters, contract negotiations, intellectual property, privacy and data protection, corporate governance, and employment matters. Cority is a leader in environmental, health, safety, and quality (EHSQ) software.

Before joining Cority, Karen was an Associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, where they specialized in Regulatory and Intellectual Property law from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they served as a Student at Law at the same firm from 2012 to 2013.

In 2010, Karen worked as a Summer Student at The Family Legal Health Program at SickKids, Pro Bono Law Ontario. Karen conducted evaluations, performed data analysis, and conducted follow-up interviews.

Karen's early career included a role as a Research Associate at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine. During this time, they conducted research in the area of Folic Acid and Carcinogenesis, presenting their findings at conferences and assisting with manuscript drafting.

Karen Sie's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nutritional Science which they obtained from the University of Toronto - University of St. Michael's College from 2002 to 2006. Karen pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto from 2006 to 2008. In 2009, they attended the University of Ottawa for their Doctor of Law (JD) degree, before transferring to the University of Toronto in 2010 to complete the same degree, which they finished in 2012. Additionally, Karen participated in the Shad Valley program in 2000, although no degree or field of study is mentioned for that experience.
