Ruben Balk

Ruben Balk has over two decades of experience in the IT and management sectors, primarily within the insurance industry. Currently serving as Manager IT Plan at Achmea since February 2009, Ruben oversees information management, portfolio management, and architecture functions within the IT chain for damage and income insurance. Previous roles at Achmea include Information Manager and Manager Project Portfolio Management, where responsibilities encompassed business roadmap development, project portfolio oversight, and team leadership. Prior to Achmea, Ruben held positions as Senior Consultant at Conquaestor B.V., and Business Consultant at both IBM Business Consulting Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in project management and process optimization in the financial sector. Educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in General Management from Inholland University of Applied Sciences and modules in Bestuurlijke informatievoorziening from the University of Amsterdam.
