Mary Sumner

Mary Sumner has extensive experience in business development and marketing within the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as a Business Development Contractor at Acino since September 2021. Previously, Mary worked at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, from 2004 to March 2021 as a New Product Franchise Lead, focusing on pipeline product pre-launch marketing, new product feasibilities, and strategic projects. Prior roles include consulting with MC Sumner & Associates and Service Quality Institute, and business consulting at Stratex/StratLab. Early in Mary’s career, positions at Cilag (Janssen Pharmaceutica) included Product Group Manager, while earlier roles as Marketing Assistant and Sales and Product Manager were held at Janssen Pharmaceutica, and as a Market Research Analyst at MRA - Market Research Africa. Mary holds a BA in Industrial Psychology from the University of Witwatersrand and additional education from Wits Business School and SAMRA.
