Imad Banna

Imad Banna is the Chief Information Security Officer at Acorns. Previously, they served as the Executive, Corporate Information Security at CoreLogic from January 2018 to April 2019. Some of their projects and accomplishments in this previous role include building a robust Business Information Security Officer (BISO) organization to serve as the face and voice of information security for the organization in less than a year; having their Information Security Program ranked in the top 5% in the industry by an independent information security firm; reducing the click rate on phishing emails by 77% through ongoing enhancements to a monthly ethical phishing campaign and efforts to effectively educate chronic offenders; creating monthly score cards for each business unit to outline key risk indicators and remediation efforts to keep leadership up-to-date on current threats and gain support for risk reduction efforts; designing a risk-based approach to prioritize application and infrastructure vulnerabilities to ensure timely risk remediation; implementing a risk assessment based on CIS Top 20 controls to accurately assess and communicate the risk posture for multiple business units; and providing business executives with strategic security guidance to ensure consistency and sustainability of information security policies, processes, and controls.

Imad Banna has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from California State University, Long Beach. Imad also has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from California State University, Long Beach. Imad is certified by ISC2 in Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Imad is also certified by the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business in USC Executive Leadership Development Program.
