Dr Abdul Hamid

Dr Abdul Hamid has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 20 years. Their most recent role was as a Senior Engineering Manager at Acquire, where they hired and managed global cross-functional teams to support business development. Dr Abdul also developed management frameworks and processes to prioritize and balance work across the teams. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect at Acquire, where they provided technical and non-technical leadership and was involved in designing and deploying high throughput, low latency data-pipelines. Dr Abdul also led the core devops team that built infrastructure to enrich and scale Acquire's offerings.

Before joining Acquire, Dr Abdul Hamid worked as a Data Scientist and PhD Researcher at Coventry University, where they explored lightweight machine learning architecture and conducted research in Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. Dr Abdul also worked at RBC Wealth Management as a Data Scientist and AI Engineer, where they explored AI-based smart solutions in an experimental lab.

Dr Abdul Hamid also has experience in executive positions, including being the Chief Executive Officer at Just Total Tech Limited, where they led cross-functional DevOps teams and ensured the agile process was followed to deliver high-quality software. Dr Abdul also served as the Chief Technology Officer at The WOW Agency (London Metropolitan University) and as the Chief Information Officer at AppsCluster Academy Ltd, where they led the development of technical teams and executed IT strategies.

Earlier in their career, Dr Abdul Hamid worked as an Application Developer at origin8 Technologies Ltd and Bits Studios. Dr Abdul also worked as a Web Developer at MakeMeBelieve/S9V24, where they led web application development.

Dr. Abdul Hamid began their education journey in 2000 when they enrolled in London Metropolitan University for their Bachelor of Science degree in Computing & Information Systems. Dr Abdul completed this degree in 2003. In 2003, they continued their education at the same university and pursued a Master of Science degree in Internet Applications Development, which they completed in 2004.

After a short break, Dr. Hamid returned to London Metropolitan University in 2011 and completed a FHEA Accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching Practice. Later in the same year, they also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the university.

Dr. Hamid's education journey progressed further as they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science at Coventry University from 2016 to 2019.
