Laura Simpson is an experienced professional in international development with a focus on program management and donor engagement. Currently serving at ACTED since December 2018, Laura has held multiple leadership roles, including Deputy to the Flagship & Environment Technical Director and Regional Environment and Green Economy Technical Coordinator for East Africa. Laura's responsibilities include overseeing a team of 27 and expanding the regional program portfolio, as well as ensuring effective program implementation and quality project proposal delivery. Previous experience includes a role as Global Head of Programs at Polish Humanitarian Action, where Laura significantly increased the program portfolio across multiple countries. Earlier positions at Save the Children UK and Relief International involved grant management, business development, and technical support for various projects. Laura holds a Master's degree in Post-War Recovery Studies from the University of York and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Leeds.
