Mark Chopping has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Mark started their career as a developer at Olivetti Research in 1988 before joining WhiteCross Systems in 1992. At WhiteCross, they worked as a Software Engineer and later became the Chief Software Engineer, managing the development team and handling customer support. In 2005, they played a vital role in the merger of WhiteCross with Kognitio and helped integrate the developers from Kognitio into the team. Mark then assumed the position of Chief Software Engineer at Kognitio and contributed to the successful deployment of their database product in various projects. Mark also took on additional responsibilities as the Director of Software Development and the Head of Operations, overseeing recruitment, training, and logistical changes in the company. In 2020, Mark joined Actian as a Senior Software Engineer and later transitioned to the role of Principal Software Engineer in 2021.
Mark Chopping attended the University of Cambridge from 1985 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science.
